Nothing is better on a wintry day in February (especially when you aren’t expecting snow!) than a hot cup of hot chocolate. Here is one non-dairy style. And it’s absolutely the BEST TASTING Hot Chocolate I have every tasted.
PREP TIME: 3 MIN COOK TIME: UNTIL HOT SERVINGS: 2
- 2 1/2 cups soy or almond milk
- 3 TBS organic coconut palm sugar
- 3 tablespoons cocoa powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 pinch ground cinnamon
- 1 pinch cayenne pepper
Bring the milk, sugar, cocoa powder, salt, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and cayenne pepper to a simmer in a saucepan over medium-high heat. Remove from the heat and whisk until frothy- this is fun part, because it makes it so pretty. Sprinkle with a dash more of cinnamon. Serve immediately.
