Tonight was our annual Cottage Theatre Board of Directors Holiday Party. It was just a simple gathering after our end of the year meeting to visit with each other … wonderful, people who have become good friends. A time to reminisce about the various shows we have produced this past year as well as catch up on what everyone is doing, as well as share our upcoming holiday plans, and simply relax.
It was a simple “potluck” and everyone brought something delicious to share – truly a fantastic array of foods everyone could enjoy — including desserts! One of which was a wonderful mini tart that I just have to say … has to be … one of the tastiest, most decadent treats I have had in a very long time.
These seriously good chocolate mini-tarts with ingredients done right are called Miracle Tart Chocolate Minis and they are an amazing tasting mini tart filled with a heavenly ganache made with coconut oil (instead of heavy cream) and sweetened with rich tasting maple syrup. The crust is made with natural raw almond flour and a hint of sea salt. Each tart is 90 calories, with 5 grams of fat and only 6 grams of sugar — which I think is pretty good for a dessert.
Serving size: 1 tart: Ingredients: organic maple syrup, Fair Trade dark cocoa, natural raw almond flour, organic extra virgin coconut oil, sea salt. It is Certified Vegan, Gluten Free, Kosher, Non-GMO Verified, and Raw Oil. That’s it! No preservatives or other mystery ingredients!
Now of course I try not to have desserts every day, but for such an occasion as tonight, this mini tart is one super special dark chocolate treat. It’s not only tasty … it’s made with pure ingredients. Oh, they can be purchased at Costco!
I would love to serve these at one of my next gatherings, and I think I’d like to garnish them with a few fresh raspberries.
