During my weight loss journey, I have discovered two types of satiety: a short-term version — when I feel full after finishing a meal and a long-term version — when I feel full for about four to six hours before I’m hungry again.I realized that if I was dreaming of my next meal before four hours had passed, then I obviously was eating the wrong foods or the wrong amounts of foods.
I have already shared how important it is to have breakfast. Another tip I have found to reaching satiety faster is by enjoying a great cup of broth based soup before my lunch or dinner meals. It should be packed with veggies (either whole or blended smooth).
I have read from several sources that people who eat soup before a meal consistently feel full sooner, eat few calories, stay fuller longer, and lose weight.
With this very chilly weather we are experiencing, soup really hits the spot. I will be posting some easy delicious recipes over the next few days. One that I enjoy a lot is my a Quick Black Bean Soup. Check it out in my Recipe Section.
